Mental Health &
Brain Health
Mood, sleep, anxiety and cognition — assessed by consultants, held in complete confidence, and never reduced to a prescription.

The mind is not
separate from the body.
Low mood, poor sleep and difficulty concentrating are often treated as purely psychological. Sometimes they are. Often they are not, and establishing which is the first task.
A proper assessment looks at both, rather than assuming either.

Flatness or sadness that has not lifted.
Worry, tension or panic that interferes with living.
Trouble falling asleep, staying asleep or waking rested.
Common reasons
patients come to us.
You do not need a diagnosis, and you do not need to be in crisis to justify an appointment.
Brain fog, forgetfulness and reduced focus.
Exhaustion that rest is no longer resolving.
A diagnosis or medication plan you would like reviewed.
Describe what you have noticed and a coordinator will direct you.
Concerns we assess.
This is not a diagnostic list. It is where patients usually start, and each is assessed properly before anything is concluded.

What we recommend is a clinical judgement — made with you, and explained to you.
What care
can involve.
Which of these applies to you — if any — is decided after assessment, not before it.

Psychiatric consultation
An unhurried assessment of history, symptoms and context, with a clear explanation of what is being considered.

Cognitive assessment
Structured evaluation of memory, attention and processing.

Investigation of physical causes
Bloodwork and hormonal panels, because not every low mood is psychological.

Medication management
Considered individually, with reasoning, alternatives and review schedule explained first.

Therapeutic referral
Onward referral to psychological therapy where that is the better route.

Sleep assessment
Structured review of sleep, because it underlies a great deal else.
Availability of any specific treatment is confirmed at consultation. We do not offer a treatment we cannot explain the reasoning for.

How your care
is planned.
Every patient follows the same four stages. What happens inside them is specific to you.
Consultation
Unhurried, with history and context taken seriously.
Assessment
Investigation chosen to answer a specific question.
Plan
Written, explained, and agreed with you before starting.
Review
Revisited against how you actually respond.
Used where it
changes the answer.
Equipment does not deliver care — physicians do. Each platform is used under consultant oversight, and only where it genuinely changes what we can assess or achieve.
Which of these applies to you is confirmed at consultation.
Objective measurement rather than impression.
Ruling in or out a physical contributor.
Understanding sleep architecture, not just duration.
Consistent measurement across follow-up visits.
Who you
will see.

When more than
one specialty helps.
Mood and cognition are affected by hormones, sleep, metabolic health and thyroid function. Where that is genuinely relevant, your consultant can involve the appropriate Lavora specialist.
Not every patient needs this. Many cases are managed entirely within the specialty, and deciding otherwise is a clinical judgement made case by case.
Mood change through hormonal transition.
Hormonal contributors to mood and energy.
Cognitive health as part of long-term ageing.
Before
you book.
If your question is not here, message us on WhatsApp and a coordinator will answer it.
Is this confidential?
Completely. Private rooms, separate routing, and records restricted to your care team.
Will I be put on medication?
Not automatically. Medication is one option among several, and it is discussed rather than assumed.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book a consultation directly.
Do you provide talking therapy?
We assess, and we refer to psychological therapy where that is the right route for you.
What if my problem is physical, not psychological?
Establishing that is part of the assessment, which is why investigation is often included.
Do you accept insurance?
Coverage varies by insurer and plan. Contact us and we will confirm eligibility beforehand.
Start with
a conversation.
Whether you know what you need or want help working it out, a coordinator will guide you.
Four fields. A coordinator calls you back.
Low-pressure. Ask anything first.
